About Brandon
A native Texan, Brandon has been singing from an early age. From his time with the Grammy Award Winning Texas Boy’s Choir to touring with the, also Grammy Award Winning, Phoenix Boys Choir, Brandon’s education and passion for singing excelled rapidly.
He graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.M. in Vocal Performance. While there he was featured in the opera program, became a chorus member for Fort Worth Opera, and began his love for teaching voice. He earned a M.M. in Vocal Performance as well as an M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy from the well respected New England Conservatory of Music. There he was a part of the opera program as well as the chamber program. He studied under the esteemed voice teacher, and first-ever endowed faculty member in vocal studies, Carole Haber, who herself was a pupil of Helen Hodam and Lynn Meyers. While under Haber’s tutelage he developed a reputation as a respected voice teacher in his own right, substituting for her on leave and in her studio classes. Brandon’s students have sung with Opera Boston, Tanglewood Festival Chorus, Cape Cod Opera Boston, Metrowest Opera, Odyssey Opera, Harvard Early Music, Boston Baroque, the Broadway National Tour of Jersey Boys, among others. He was also teacher to recording artist Troy Ramey.
As a performer Brandon has sung with Fort Worth Opera, Harvard Early Music, Boston Opera Collaborative, Opera Providence, Calliope, Chorus pro Musica, and others. His operatic performances have seen him thrive in styles that run from Mozart to the 21st century repertoire. He is an avid lover and champion of American music and has sung the works of Hoiby, Menotti, Adamo, Heggie, Shore, and Pasatieri. A recitalist at heart, he has provided programs that honor current and former American composers and is working on connections with LGBT composers of our time. He holds prizes with the National Association of Teachers of Singing as well as an award winner at the Peter Elvin's Voice Competition. Currently he is the cantor and lead singer for The Arch Street Band at St. Anthony's Shrine in downtown Boston, where they see thousands of members and visitors each year. They are highly sought after in the Boston Catholic church scene and were chosen to perform at the first ever 'Catholic Night' at Fenway Stadium. Brandon is a also a songwriter and will be putting out his debut EP later this year.
